A family business, Swiss Precision was founded on the belief in hard work and chasing a dream. Kurt Eidam, an immigrant to the United States from Switzerland, founded the company in 1982 with his wife Maria here in the Ashton area. Beginning with a rake and a shovel from their garage, they began with next to nothing and have grown it into a multi layered business. They have managed to run the business and raise seven children working in the business. The children are all grown now, and even have children of their own running around and filling the business with more than just plant life.
Kurt’s heritage and education is where we get our name of Swiss Precision. There is nothing like the quality of European craftmanship and European education. Kurt learned the trade in Bern Switzerland before he emigrated to the USA, and has continued the stream of knowledge, teaching his children and well over 100 employees the ins and outs of landscaping, hardscaping, and lawn care. Maria, who is half Swiss herself, helps with all things to do with the nursery, beginning with house plants and a garden, she has nurtured living things into a profitable business which includes annuals, perennials, trees (Evergreen and Citrus), vegetables, organics, succulents, and knowledge and guidance on seeds, fertilizers, and pest prevention.
Kurt and Maria, along with their two sons Adrian, Timothy, and a core staff of dedicated individuals operate the business daily and continue to strive towards the betterment of our environment through dedication to the landscape industry, native florals, and preserving the natural beauty of our landscape via preservative landscaping practices.
